Founded in 1975, Boy Scout Troop 275 serves boys from the Round Lake Area and surrounding communities. Our diverse group of Scouts attends Round Lake, Grayslake, Grant and Antioch school districts.
Troop 275 is a boy-run troop allowing our Scouts to plan their own meetings, campouts, calendar, and activities, the adult volunteers’ work to make their plans happen.
Our Scouts develop leadership skills by means of training, hands-on experience, and by providing ongoing service to their community. Examples are neighborhood festivals, caroling at the senior center, food drives, and guiding younger Scouts during events such as Webelos Woods and the Pinewood Derby.
Our troop has had multiple opportunities to experience high adventure by trekking through the mountains of Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, NM.
Our Scouts are able to sustain an active participation in Scouting along with other extracurricular activities, for example athletics, fine arts, National Honor Society, and the Schuler Scholar Program.
Our adult volunteers bring years of Scouting experience in a vast array of areas such as camping, hiking, backpacking, fishing, and cold weather camping.
